Downtown Manzanillo has been renovated; visit the Municipal Presidency, the “Museo de la Perversidad” (Perversity Museum), displaying in its repertory the cruelty of the Holy Inquisition and the Medieval Era with its forms of torture.
The downtown area also has a Central Kiosk and a Sea Terminal, all renovated.
Its gastronomy is based on seafood products but one of the highlights is the Colima Ceviche that can be prepared in different forms using sea bass, dolphinfish or sailfish, which can of course be found around the region.
The endemic drink called Tejuino made of fermented corn is also something you must try.
The Iguana Reserve is also a place worth visiting, since it is home to more than 500 types of iguana species, all collected and taken care of by a man called Ramón Archundia; get close and know more about the story of his love for these reptiles.
