For a taste of architecture go see the St Marc Cathedral, built from 1560 to 1965 in honor of the city’s patron saint; in Chiapa de Corzo, 15 km from downtown Tuxtla, the ruins of the St Sebastian Temple dating back to the XVII century; today, 400 years old.
Enjoy the traditional dances in the main square; visit the ecological and recreational center El Zapotal, or Coapilla - Laguna Verde, a beautiful lagoon with waters that shift color according to the weather conditions; if cloudy, it turns green, early morning it seems blue, under the midday sun it seems to be made of silver and later on it becomes copper like.
There are four cabins in the park where you can also stay for a fee, and you can go mountain biking, or test your water skills on a kayak or scooter; a most amazing experience in nature.

Most restaurants specialize in dishes from Chiapas and in Mexican cuisine; some of these restaurants also have nightly shows with traditional dances and marimba music.
